It's been a while but the Matos stud gave me some via a new interview ;)

Today's:

Andre Matos was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but grew up in Rio de Janeiro instead.

And as a bonus trivia, his relatives came from Lisbon, Portugal originally. That's why he wrote the song "Lisbon" while in the band Angra :)

Today's:

The Viper song "Moonlight" was the first thing Andre Matos ever composed. True, the music is based on the song "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven but the lyrics aren't :)

(I'm guessing he wrote it around age 15 or so but I could be wrong. It had to be written at the very latest at age 17 because that's when Theatre of Fate came out.)

Andre Matos has bachelor degrees in Orchestral Conducting and Composition. He obtained both right after his time with Viper and during the first part of Angra in 1989-92.
